Known as the “Asian Swim Queen" the Iloilo native holds the distinction as the Filipino athlete with the most number of medals in the Asian Games.
She won a total of ten medals after participating in 1954, 1958, and 1962 editions. Of those medals, three were gold, five were silver, and 3 were bronze. Her gold medals came from the 100-meter freestyle and butterfly events.
