Lavrente Indico Diaz is born on December 30, 1958. He is
known to be one of the perpetuators of slow cinema movement. He is most popular
for his long narrative films which mostly focus on the social and political
state of the Philippines. It shows the reality of what different peoples
experience in its crudest state. His films often have a length of four hours or
more, typically in black and white. It garnered a lot of attention especially
internationally, where he already won and was nominated multiple times,
particularly 45 wins and 61 nominations.
